Lakeview relies heavily on community support to keep living conditions suitable for residents. Here’s why:
The maximum Medicaid amount the facility draws monthly for each resident is $1,100, less either $57 or $77, resident personal needs funds. This meager income times our nineteen (19) residents must cover all our monthly expenses, including around the clock resident assistants — truly verifying our non-profit status.
How you can help:
- Monetary donations: Money raised helps offset costs for basic needs, such as food, laundry service and on-site resident assistants.
- Food donations: Food donations help tremendously, however, we do ask that donors please buy gift cards specifically from Wal-Mart, Ingles, or Wilson’s Meats. This enables us to purchase exactly what is necessary to follow our monthly menu. If you prefer to actually purchase food items, a list of needed items is maintained at the facility.
- Item donations: It’s simple — any items you need to make your house a home, we need too. Donations like furniture, TVs, appliances, decorations, towels/linens, and toiletries make our facility feel like home to residents.
- Time/Labor/Talents: Local businesses, community groups and individuals help tremendously by donating material, time and talents to help improve our facility. Past projects include bathroom renovations, grounds beautification, plumbing/structural repairs, and basic clean up — just to name a few. The needs are never ending, and we can always use your help in some way.
